I was raised on Rock-n-Roll (I started listening in 1957 when I was four!), though my parents' involvement was accidental. They let me have a radio when I was sick and tuned it to the classical station, but I wasn't one to leave things alone so I started tuning other stations. I listened to WINS when it was a rock station, then WMCA (the Good Guys), then WABC (Cousin Brucie, etc.) - all from New York. I knew every popular song on the radio when the Beatles appeared on the scene, and remember vividly just how much I liked them. I was into all the progressive rock bands of the late 1960s/ early 1970s (WOR-FM when it was a rock station and later WNEW-FM and WPLJ). I did sound for bands all through the 1970s and into the 1980s (including a band called Blue Angel whose singer became famous shortly thereafter!). I was a huge fan of Punk and New Wave in the late 1970s and early 1980s (KROQ, Pasadena CA and WPIX, NY). I got hooked on Reggae in 1972 (after hearing The Harder They Come soundtrack) and continue to enjoy it to this day. Alternative rock was my thing all through the 1980s and 1990s (back to KROQ, and later WDST, Woodstock, NY). XTC and Squeeze were my fav's. I got into a band called The Orb in the early 1990s which was really my introduction to electronica, but because the record industry in the US refused to acknowledge its existence I had to wait for internet radio to get really into it. Trip-Hop, Chillout, Ambient, etc. This is where the rest of the world has gone, but America didn't follow. Too bad. It's our loss. A little bit of this genre sneaks on to television (Zero 7 on Sex in the City and Massive Attack on House, etc.).

I listen to music incessantly - it drives other people nuts!

A few good internet radio stations are:

Monkey Radio www.monkeyradio.org
DJ Dusty's Afternoon Nap www.downtempo.org
Radio Paradise www.radioparadise.com
181.FM Chillout www.181.fm/playing.php?station…

The new Orb album with David Gilmour is pretty excellent!
